Ouch, Borepatch!

Owey! And take care of yourself, Borepatch. Those motorcycles aren’t for the faint-hearted.

(I’d leave a comment over at Borepatch’s site, but far as I can see, you have to use an “official” ID with Google or some other outfit. Not doing that and can’t see why an increasing number of sites demand it.)

Thanks for the heads up about Borepatch. I went to his site and left some well wishes. Having taken a spill or two over they years I can understand what he is going through. About the website wanting official ID, I too have seen that trend growing. Heck my privacy softwear intercepts buckets of tracking cookies every time I surf, for example there were 5 tracking cookies from backwoods home when I went to check your blog. It is all good though.

    Just datamining.

I use a russian email server, and when I set up accounts with folks like Google, I just lie about my personal details.

I lie all the time, even to humans. If I don’t think my business is any of yours, I’ll lie. Simple. I once had co-workers believing that my parents met while working at a traveling circus side-show.

Oh, I’m definitely not opposed to giving websnoops “creative” information — to get something I want or need. It’s just too much hassle to do it just so I can opinionate once in a while on somebody else’s comment section.

Borepatch’s blog is one of the few where it might be worthwhile, but basically I’m just not motivated to share any info, even fake info, with websnoops for something as “lite” as commenting.

It’s getting worse; there’s a number of websites out there won’t accept requests from anonymizing proxies, particularly TOR.

Most of them, I ignore, but if I really want something from a site, TOR gives you the ability to change your outlet (actually, the whole onion path) on command, so I just keep doing this until I get an exit IP that they haven’t blacklisted yet. Have to be quick, though, because TOR switches you around every 5-20 minutes, and you’re back to nogoodnik status.

I’ve added MZ to my list of people I wish had never been born. Facebook is the source of so much of this kind of evil.

I had to go with the create an identify as I was being bombarded with Japanese porn inks (don’t ask me why). People that want to talk to me usually have my email though so I’m OK with no comments.

I’ve talked with Borepatch on the phone a couple of times. He’s pretty out of it with the pain meds but is doing OK and really thankful for the well wishes.
