I think I’m supposed to know what that’s all about. Somebody help me out: Who’s he?

Founder of McAfee Associates, at one time one of the big providers of anti-virus software for Micro$oft operating systems. Nominally, I guess they still are, but are owned by Intel. He sold the company, and went on to … I don’t recall the intervening stuff, but eventually had a bunch of legal trouble, the details of which are, perhaps, in dispute.

I wasn’t aware he was the Libertarian nominee. Well, I guess I don’t know whether he’s actually been named as such – looks like he’s participating in their debates. Not all that much at lp.org about that, but I did find Elvis Presley.

Oh, found the right page. There are 17 “recognized” LP candidates for president.

I know I’d rather watch a McAfee / Sanders debate than a Trump / Clinton debate. Not that I watch those things, but you know, if I were forced to choose.

The Libertarian Party will nominate its presidential candidate over Labor Day weekend at its national convention in Orlando, Florida.

My GUESS is that McAfee will get the nod. The other candidates are Gary Johnson (who was the nominee last time), Austin Petersen (former Fox producer on e.g. Judge Andrew Napolitano’s show), and Darryl Perry, talk radio host, etc. (Perry is the main candidate of the libertarian wing of the Libertarian Party).

Oh. Okay, so it’s libertarians talking to one another in a corner. Got it.

I’d rather watch a McAfee / Sanders debate than a Trump / Clinton debate.

šŸ™‚ I’d rather watch my offspring eaten by bears than a Trump/Clinton debate.

Meanwhile over at Huffpo they are pushing for the R’s to run a third party candidate. The question remains, can a small government alternative to oppression as usual find support from the libertine faction of the “liberal” party?
