Sometimes, when there’s nothing you can do about the troubles of the world or the terrible sufferings of a friend, you just get busy.
The sunroom has been an art room since last year. But I’ve been neglecting art (again) and I’ve missed being able to sit peacefully in the best corner of the house.
Keeping grief at bay, I resorted to that time-honored female remedy of cleaning house and shoving furniture around. I recreated the sunroom as my woman cave, while at the same time stripping the kitchen down to clean minimalism. This is where I’ve been most of the time since then. Yesterday in the rain. Today in the sun.
The world still feels dark with impending loss. But by damn, let us not forget to live while we can.
Anyhow, revamping the sunroom gives me an excuse post this photo (below) once again. I love reposting this one as a reminder that there is such a thing as progress and that life can get better sometimes.

It’s not a Woman Cave. It’s a She Shack.
😉
That is one beautiful transformation Claire!
🙂
Just when you think the world is falling apart and there is no end, you are handed a ray of sunshine and a rose, and all is well!
A “She Shack,” is it? LOL, I just knew there had to be a special term. Somehow, “woman cave” has a weird (and I assure you, unintentional) sexual vibe. But not too many shacks are fully attached to houses. I’ve got to come up with something else. She Sunroom? No. Distaff Den? Maybe. Hersuite? Hm. This needs more work.
All help appreciated and thank you for the cheer, guys. I’m actually fine, BTW. The hard thing is knowing a friend is suffering alone.
You know when that sun comes out on the wetside of the cascades, I’s do believe it heaven!
That chair looks mighty comfortable too!
So sorry for your sadness. So hard to see our friends suffer.
I’m sorry about your friend’s suffering. I know that is painful when you can’t help.
“Hersuite” reads too much like “hirsute.”
“Lass’s Lair” might work, but it’s hard to get your tongue around.
“Distaff Den” is not bad at all.
Dame Claim
Ava certainly looks comfortable.
Ha. You two. Lass’s Lair. Dame Claim. How ’bout Girly Grotto? Sister’s Sanctum? Broad’s Pod? Hermitte’s Haven? Broad’s Base?
No offense but ‘Hen House’ has a nice sound to it.
Hen House. OMG. We’re doomed.
In my defense, I’m in Medieval Mode. “Dames” are pretty special.
cúl dídine? The dictionary claims it’s feminine.
“This is the day that the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
