Equifax keeps digging itself a deeper and deeper hole. Turns out they’ve been directing people to a phishing site instead of their actual “find out if you’ve been affected” site. (Fortunately the phishing site is an honest one. It was set up by a security researcher to show how vulnerable Equifax’s actual hack-info site is.)

But don’t worry! When we’re all making purchases via finger-vein readers, all will be well forever after. Absolutely infallible security. (H/T ML)

Yeah, and this discreet wearable + phone app will make you feelz safe, too. As long as you’re not in any immediate, actual danger.

Ava had dental surgery today. Under general anesthetic. She just came home from Furrydoc’s. I may have enhanced the eyes on that last one. Slightly. I admit nothing. The funniest thing was watching her try to walk. Best analogy: a drunk at 2:00 a.m., trying verrrrry, verrrrry carefully to pass his field sobriety test. The unfunniest part will getting the vet bill at the end of the month. Fortunately Furrydoc lets me pay installments. When Ava had been awake long enough to come home, Furrydoc texted me: “Your princess awaits her carriage.” She knows Her Royal Highness Princess Ava Prettypaws…

She moved from a blue state to a sort of reddish one and had her eyes opened — both about her new home and the prejudices of the people she left behind.

Ha. Remember the monkey selfie case that PETA just settled? A lawyer who crusades against bad settlements submits a hilarious brief pointing out that PETA has no standing to settle on the monkey’s behalf.

That new “liberal” pope has been anything but liberal — or transparent or different than recent old popes — when it comes to priests who sexualize kiddies.

Equifax already faces at least 23 class-action lawsuits for its shameless handling of “cuckstomer” data. Even though I know lawyers are the chief beneficiaries of these things, in this case: more power to ’em.

Edward Snowden and Andrew “bunnie” Huang have designed a hardware device to monitor your iPhone against surveillance.

Could Father Mykal Judge become the first gay saint? (Well no. Odds are there have been gay saints who never got outed. But Mykal Judge was a good man and I hope he makes the grade. At the rate the last couple of popes have been churning out saints, several dogs I know should probably make the grade. And hey, St. Guinefort the Greyhound gets a mention in the linked article, though not by name.)

This cop just loves him some tasers — as he’s shown again and again. Yeah, and that family loved their young son and brother, too. (I hope they end up owning you, Officer Pig.)

Well, guess what? The Evergreen State College suffers “the Mizzou effect” after that flap where racist students tried to force white people off the campus.

And it’s too bad that this ringing endorsement of thinking for yourself has to come from professors who were targets of the same kind of vile groupthinking wrath. (H/T PT)

It’s truly a disgrace that cops did nothing about this. But then, what would the cops themselves would have done if somebody pointed a flame-thrower at them? Since they can’t even bear to have a cell phone or a gun-shaped finger pointed in their direction …

Don’t ever take your long and healthy life for granted.

$208 million in tax breaks to create 50 jobs. Geez, why don’t they just pay 50 lucky people $4 million each and forget about the alleged job creation?
