David’s Ammoland column is picked up on the Google newsfeed and has been at the top of the feed since it was published. That’s a pretty big deal. Activity, including comments, will help keep it there. So if you’ve got something to say about this fooraw, feel free to say it at Ammoland.

Personally, I’d have probably hemmed and hawed as to whether simple ignorance (if, indeed, it really was that) was worth responding to more gently…but really, in this day and age it is getting harder and harder to defend the argument that true ignorance is almost inherently willful. Plus, I can’t escape the conclusion for myself, that trying to respond kindly, only to find that I should have been more cynical, contributes enormously to my own outrage fatigue, and probably just isn’t healthy.
And besides, a truly honest person would take the smackdown as the beer-goggle-clearing gift that it is. I should remember that I required a couple of those myself, to get where I am now. 🙂

FWIW, we have reason to believe Mr. Abramson (in David’s comment thread) isn’t ignorant about TZP at all. Even if he were, to publicly defame and misrepresent us as he did would be inexcusable. He didn’t just make an innocent goof or two, believe me.
Yeah, what was with that Abramson guy? Anybody with any knowledge of TZP at all would know not a word of what he said was true. Does he have some ax to grind with you guys?
As to axes, I’m not sure. But someone with that name did contact Nicki about a year ago, demanding to know all about our “compensation and dividend structure” and suchlike. Claimed to be considering investing in us, but wouldn’t accept the answer that we were small, new, all-volunteer, and nobody gets paid for anything.
Seemed to have an agenda then. If it’s the same guy, seems to have even more of one now.
Although I certainly respect anyone wanting to know about an organization they’re interested in supporting, there’s a small subset of people who contact us with a whole bunch of “only ifs” — “I’ll donate to you ONLY IF you hire so-and-so,” “I’ll support you ONLY IF you have a political activist wing,” “I’ll support you ONLY IF you don’t have a political activist wing,” etc. These people are usually just trying to look important while finding reasons NOT to support us.
I will never be confused for either a writer, a wordsmith or a blogger but even I can spell troll.

Thanks, capn. Well, FWIW, it can take a few hours for some comments to show on Ammoland. They have moderation and I think also a pretty strict spam filter that they have to check periodically. So don’t give up hope yet!
