A Friend of the Blog has donated Front Sight training certificates to the cause (the cause being to support Living Freedom and Claire’s Cabal and to keep Ava in kibble).
I hadn’t figured on doing a fundraiser this year. I’m definitely holding off on the next bleg-a-thon. But hey, this is a trade, not a bleg.
So. Here’s what the generous blogfriend is making publicly available to readers of Living Freedom:
6 4 certificates for Four-Day Defensive Handgun
5 certificates for Two-Day Defensive Handgun
50 certificates for Four-Day Handgun/Rifle/Shotgun
50 certificates for Two-Day Handgun/Rifle/Shotgun
$19.95 apiece for the two-day certificates. $29.95 apiece for the four-day certificates. The four-day certificates can be broken into two two-day classes (for instance if you and a family member wanted to take a class together, or if you wanted to split your own training into two sessions).
And there are tons of classes scheduled at any time of the year, so there should be no problem finding one that fits your schedule.
Here’s how the deal works:
1. You send $19.95 for each certificate you want to my PayPal address (paypal-at-hermit-dot-cotse-dot-net). Please DO NOT use the donation button.
2. Specify which certificate(s) you want. First come, first served. If the certificate you want is sold out, I’ll contact you to see whether you want a different one, a refund, or an upgrade.
3. I will send you a Front Sight signup link. After you sign up, you send me your FS username. Our blogfriend will then transfer the appropriate certificate to you.
4. When you are ready to schedule your first class, you will need to pay $50 (to Front Sight, NOT to me) for a background check. The background check is good for a calendar year. If you take your first class this September, the BC is good through this December. If you take your first class next January, the BC is good through December 2018. Take one class during the calendar year, the $50 background check covers it. Take four classes during the calendar year, the $50 background check covers them.
These prices are roughly comparable to those you’ll find on eBay. Of course, eBay is all over the place and you’ll find some higher, some lower. You might find some rip-roaring bargains over there. But if you purchase from me, you’ll not only be keeping Ava in kibble, but I’ll privately tell you about a major upgrade those eBay sellers probably aren’t offering. This, too, is courtesy of that kind blogfriend.
Interested? Send money. 🙂 Questions: Ask in comments and I’ll try to answer. I am an intermediary in this transaction and have no personal connection to Front Sight, so for anything complicated, I might have to ask the donor and get back to you.
Thank you to the person who bought the first two certificates this morning! PayPal delivered your payment anonymously (good on you for managing to have an anonymous PayPal account). If you’ll email me at paypal-at-hermit-dot-cotse-dot-net, I’ll send your registration link ASAP.
Too far for me – but shared. Hope you trade all of them.
Thank you so much, M!
I’ve had two handgun classes at Front Sight, I also have friends who have taken their rifle training and all of us found their instructors top notch.
Thanks for the endorsement, Comrade X. I haven’t taken Front Sight courses myself (I am too old-school and stubborn to agree to prove my innocence before being allowed to train), but everything I’ve heard is good.
Now, if that first buyer will contact me (please), I’ll get an FS registration link sent off …
Well, my goodness…maybe this is the start of something I’ve had in mind to suggest to you, ma’am. Starting your own sort of “mini e-bay” as a source of revenue. I held off until now because perhaps the bookkeeping might make it more of a pain than it would be worth. Anyway, there it is (i.e.–the thought), all out in the open and everything!
I just took a look at where Front Sight is located… Vegas Baby!
This is really a great thing and I know the certificates will go fast. I’d snap a couple up but the logistics being what they are (retired, long way away etc.) it just isn’t happening.
