Sorry for lite posting. It’s been a busy couple of days. I shall return soon with more substantial content. In the meantime have some Irish Wolfhounds.
Which, come to think of it, constitute pretty substantial content, all by themselves.

I heard a story some years ago; the person came home one day and found a circular cut in the window above the kitchen sink. This person at the time had an Irish Wolfhound who didn’t bark much but just would stare. The obvious conclusion is that the would-be burglar made the cut in the glass and then noticed he was being observed at eye level from a relatively close distance. He sensibly left for greener pastures.
Oh, good story. And I believe it.
I may have told this before, but years ago, I used to have a Great Dane. One weekend when I was out of town, a friend was dogsitting and had the dog — just a puppy, really — in his second-story apartment. Middle of the night. Somebody climbed up and was creeping over the balcony railing outside the sliding glass door.
Pippin lifts his head from the bed where he was sleeping with my friend. Gives one single curious WOOF. Creepy-crawler flies off the balcony, not to be seen again.
My favorite people and family.
Yep. I thought of you the moment I saw that, RW. (For those who don’t know, RW rescues Irish Wolfhounds, and he’s also the person who called my attention to the enormous greyhound rescue now being prepared.)

I’m sending the link to a friend who has 3 mastiff service dogs. She’ll enjoy, and relate to, the big dog funnies.
“Sorry for lite posting.”
No need to apologize. In fact, after your post of Jan. 6th {“Crawling out of the cultural sewer”}, I have been expecting an announcement of a month-long sabbatical from posting (I vaguely recall you doing that a few years ago – darn this turned 50 in 2018 memory).
