Of course.
I bitch about the man. He is a loathsome toad. But I do understand why people place their hopes in Trump and stand by their views. Especially with more of Hillary’s evil being revealed every moment. And as Vin Suprynowicz reminds us, those Hillarian evils are oozing out despite the media’s most shamelessly shameful efforts. There are still, even in this Augean stable of an election, rare moments of civility between the parties. A cynic might see it as collegiality among rival bands of brigands. Okay, so you achieved “unawareness.” Got a little problem with “compliant” part, though. Hershel Smith…
Historian has another of his remarkably philosophical blogs, new today. This one is on who are the guilty in the present mess we’re in. Historian’s writing is powerful and true and just a little bit poetic. As it tells a truth this piece carries a drumbeat of both terror and triumph. Absolutely be sure to read it; it isn’t long, but it’s packed full. It made me think of something related. We, you and me, out here on this blog in the early winter of liberty, are not responsible. We may have been at some time in some miniscule scale…
This is a thing of beauty — other than being a Trump commercial. You know, I’ve never heard anybody explain why they actually believe Trump — on anything, but especially on the Second Amendment. I absolutely see why people would want to v*te against Hillary, even if it meant casting their v*te for Lex Luthor in a King Kong suit. I sympathize. Totally. But why believe that a rich, super-authoritarian Manhattanite who has not only contributed to the Clintons (which, of course as a businessman he might have done just in self defense) but socially hobnobbed with them … sincerely…
From Cracked and Venezuela: Five apocalyptic realities in a country that’s out of food. Mangos. They’re nearly to the point of killing each other over mango trees. And it came to this so quickly.
Wednesday was a heartbreaking end-of-summer day. Beautiful. Perfect. But sad because even without looking at the weather report, you know you might not have another one like it for a long, long time. So Ava and I took advantage as much as possible. I worked and read and knitted (another dragon) outdoors while she lounged and barked at the neighbors’ invading chickens (which they’ve given up attempting to keep in their hole-y yard). In the afternoon, we took a long drive, followed by a walk along the river. And there we had one of those odd moments where it’s hard…
The economy slides closer to that black hole. Confirmation of that unlikely truth: pot users are thinner than contemporaries with similar lifestyles. And confirmation of an unsurprising truth: pot prohibitionists have as much respect for the law and for truth as anti-gunners. Second Amendment sanctuary cities. Imagine it; government actually serving the people and our rights for a change. “For the first time in a generation, Democrats are betting they’re on the winning side of the gun issue.” And they’re sending out Giffords and Kelly as their “majority” representatives to the swing states. There’s not a reason in the world…
