What’s stopping you?

And don’t answer, “My job, my wife, my pathetic income … whatever.” Sure, there are legitimate factors “stopping” us all. (I am too old, for instance, to credibly proposition Tom Hiddleston.) But freedom is (among other things) the art of creating alternatives.* —– *Though not necessarily any good alternatives to Tom Hiddleston. (H/T Joel for the meme. Spread it around if you enjoy it.)

Book: Many thanks!

So much is happening so fast with Basics of Resistance (both versions). We owe big thanks: To Survivalblog and James Wesley, Rawles for putting us at the top of their recommendations list and giving the book an extra boost. To Western Rifle Shooters Association and Concerned American. I don’t always agree with CA, and the WRSA comment section should be marked “Here Be Dragons.” But CA has been a huge friend to the book, with his latest gift being another big boost yesterday. To Wendy McElroy who put us at the top of her News & Commentary page yesterday with…

  • Paperback sales start TOMORROW!

The bad news: Amazon kicked back the paperback file on a technicality. The good news: The technicality was small, but the rejection gave Kit and me a chance to rethink the release of the printed book. So. Tomorrow — Wednesday, April 4 — you can place your order for the paperback of Basics of Resistance. Not your pre-order. Your order. UPDATE: See below. We’ve been absolutely thrilled by your response. We know a lot of you are awaiting the paperback. Because it’s print-on-demand it’ll probably take longer than a standard Amazon order (how much longer we don’t yet know) and…

Updated update: Paperback version of Basics of Resistance

Kit and I have officially completed the book. She uploaded the paperback file to Amazon yesterday afternoon. May I utter a hearty “Whew!” and a “Whoo hoo!”? Release date is April 19 (same as the Kindle edition). I assume Amazon will allow pre-orders, but they don’t allow a special pre-order price on paperbacks. It’s a slender book, 150 pages, but absolutely packed with information. And you get the expertise of two for the price of one (plus the added expertise of those who helped us). I’ll let you know when the listing has gone live and Amazon is taking orders…

    For Alexander

My friend Alexander was “executed” and reborn today. One journey over, one begun. This was not an impulse decision. It was a long, arduous venture into the depths of spiritual mystery. I’m as religious as a lump of lead, yet somehow Alexander brought me along with him, through it all. My part began with music — specifically this music. Then Alexander carried me along, though history, art, humor, more art (lots of art), personal struggle, philosophy, tears, synchronicity (lots of synchronicity), and general wonders. I was privileged to play a small part in an enormous adventure. Many thanks, all thanks,…

Update on the paperback of Basics of Resistance

Good news for everybody awaiting the paperback of Basics of Resistance. Bad news for me, because after Kit uploaded the Kindle version, I was looking forward to a few days off before progressing to the paperback (which requires different formatting and several more rounds of checking and correcting). Kit made me WERK! instead. 🙁 She took us down to the wire. The paperback version should be ready for uploading after one more round. We don’t yet have a price or an exact release date, but you can expect it about the same time as the ebook. More good news: Although…
