No description needed. Dogs are life. Cats are also necessary on the Internet.

  • Doesn’t it just figure? One of the entertainers from Saturday’s anti-gun rally in DC has a recent firearm conviction on his record. It’s one of those “offenses” that shouldn’t be. But still. Hypocrisy, thy name is gun control.
  • Here’s another rapper who’s no hypocrite; he’s adamantly pro-gun and wonders why so-called progressives want to turn black people back into slaves.
  • Do you really expect men to take this new birth-control pill?

  • If I’d have had time to post yesterday (sorry), this would have been at the top of my list: YouTube shows its colors (again) by banning a range of gun-related videos. (Tip o’ hat to DB and others)
  • Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump or Cambridge Analytica, is gaslighting America.
  • Yeah, and Cambridge Analytica is a red herring. Money quote from the Obama camp: “Facebook was ‘very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.’”

After an eight month paid vacation, the officer who shot Justine Damond has been charged with murder and manslaughter. But for most bad cops, there’s still no fear of being caught. Take happy family photos at the gun range, get suspended from school. Sigh. New Jersey again. Scott Greenfield on those odd income disparities uncovered in a study this week. Yes, the bizarre outcomes are probably a lot more than mere racism. What if some girls just don’t want STEM careers? A VPN you use on your own server, no need to contract with a provider. That would be great.…

    Hiking with Furrydoc

Furrydoc, our dogs, and I went woodswalking yesterday. Given Furrydoc’s schedule with the vet clinic and her active, hyper-accomplishing family, we manage to do this only a couple times a year With all the recent forest closures, we had to go 10 miles out of town to DNR lands to find a great place to hike. We climbed a logging road for about a mile before picking up a well-marked equestrian trail that took us deeper into the woods. We’ve been here before but not for a couple of years. The trail we were looking for ends in a magical…

  • “Blood unicorn” Theranos and its founder Elizabeth Holmes are charged with fraud. Good article.
  • Somebody needs to take this video of Hillary and score it with “Hail to the Chief” to remind us how we lucked out.
  • United Airlines does the mean and stupid again. This time a dog dies. (If even I know the rules about carrying dogs in the passenger cabin, how come a United flight attendant doesn’t?)

  • Sometimes conspiracy theories turn out to be true. Like the one that said Broward county cops were deliberately letting juveniles like the Parkland murderer off the hook.
  • The western world isn’t becoming less religious. The fanatics are still with us; they’ve just adopted a new belief called intersectionality. (And before that … state worship, of which intersectionality is just one of the craziest sects.)
  • The government killed free checking. Can Amazon restore it?

  • A Sunday ramble

Dog and book days I was deadlining late this week, aiming to get an almost-complete version of the “basics of resistance” book (co-authored with Kit Perez) to reality-checkers. Ava did not approve of all this focus-not-on-her. The beloved little diva was driving me nutz. So even though March is supposed to be my frugalista month, off Ava went to Furrydoc’s Dogotel. I hit my self-imposed deadline a day early. The timeout was glorious — except on the day it rained and I kept thinking, “Oh, I’d better bring Ava in from outside.” Then I’d remember. I’m dogless. —– One of…
