Merry Christmas links and videos

This is my early Merry Christmas to You post. Blogging will be “lite” between now and January 2. I’ll be around — when I’ve got something to say and I’m not either drywalling or feasting. It just might not be every day. If you’d like to use the comment section on this post to add links to your own favorite Christmas or winter music (as we did on Christmas 2015 with such beautiful results), that would be fun. Meanwhile, on to the links, then the music vids below. Lazy people’s Christmas decorations. The kitties await. More on cats and Christmas…

  • Hahaha. The eeeeeeeeeevil NRA, no doubt using its malign superpowers, singlehandedly hijacked the Fix-NICS bill — though if you ask me, it was more like the Fix-NICS fans hijacked concealed-carry reciprocity.
  • The adopted black baby who got sent back. The story doesn’t end as we’ve been taught to assume.
  • This one is flat-out murder-by-cop — who was just acquitted. So much for yesterday’s hint of real justice.

  • Kit Perez continues her series on the death of critical thinking in the freedom movement: Part III and Part IV.
  • Patent trolls have lost some of their malign power recently. Will the Supreme Court restore it? (This looks like one of those no-win situations from a freedomista perspective.)

(H/T PT) Has anybody else noticed that that surgeon who claims, probably bogusly, that his team just completed the first successful head transplant looks exactly like a mad scientist straight out of Hollywood? Why people will happily line up to be microchipped (like dogs, says the headline; but I don’t think dogs would be so happy to volunteer). Laws mandating driverless vehicles (and they are surely coming soon) will be highway robbery. A Pentagon contractor leaves 1.8 billion “scraped”…

  • In news-of-the-creepy: the recently dead can now unlock smartphones with their fingers or eyes.
  • Speaking of creepy, Sean Parker accuses Mark Z and FB of exploiting vulnerabilities in human psychology. (No sh*t, Sherlock. That’s what FB exists to do.)
  • Electric cars: major polluters. (Yet another truth obvious to anyone who ever looked honestly at the question without being dazzled by the claims of clean urban air.)
