Not a post about leaving social networks

Source —– Cambridge Analytica is a red herring. Oh, look, F*c*b**k gave your data to eeeeeeeevil Trump people! Never mind that it gave five times as much to those wuuuuuuuuuderful Obama people in 2012! No matter. It’s still lovely to see people finally waking up to the fact that when you’re on FB, you’re the product, not the customer. I wonder how long this will last? Will the rage and revelations against FB begin an online privacy revolution? Or, more likely, will data-gobbling and stupid data-spilling go on unabated after a few token crony-gov regulations? It’s encouraging that even big…

  • Doesn’t it just figure? One of the entertainers from Saturday’s anti-gun rally in DC has a recent firearm conviction on his record. It’s one of those “offenses” that shouldn’t be. But still. Hypocrisy, thy name is gun control.
  • Here’s another rapper who’s no hypocrite; he’s adamantly pro-gun and wonders why so-called progressives want to turn black people back into slaves.
  • Do you really expect men to take this new birth-control pill? 13 Comments
  • The book is DONE!!!!

Basics of Resistance, which we hope (cross fingers) will be the first in a series called The Practical Freedomista, is DONE!!!! Kit Perez and I have been busting our buns to meet an Amazon deadline dictated by our planned pre-release and launch schedules. I’ve been editing; Kit’s been laying the book out for Kindle and inputting my changes. And she just uploaded it: This is Kit’s first book ever. It’s my first in … oh, how many years? Loooooong time. I’d forgotten what a hectic time those last few weeks could be. This is also my first self-published book, and…

Why they imagine we’ll go quietly, I don’t know

Okay, enough of the weekend’s peace and beauty. A D-party candidate for sheriff of Buncombe County, NC, has advocated killing people who own “military style” weapons. (H/T SS) Granted, that’s Asheville, which one Twitterer called called “San Francisco east”. It’s one loudmouth trolling for v*tes. Maybe he’s desperate. Maybe he’ll say anything. Maybe his blather means nothing. Except as one more tick on the clock of our times. Still, it’s clearer by the minute that what the regressives can’t win by law and sheepish obedience they intend to seize by violence. (By, of course, their guys with military-style weapons.) We’re…

    Yesterday: Out and about

Cold and windy. More winter than spring. But beautiful. Click to embiggenate. This one I “painted” lightly in the GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program). This one I painted more heavily, which may not be apparent until you enlarge it.

Ammo to Go: Ballistic gel tests

I’m a few days late posting this, so apologies to Brandon from AtG, but Ammo to Go has published a massive (their word) test of self-defense ammo. The AmmoToGo.com team tests nearly 100 different handgun loads through a 4-layer barrier into ballistic gelatin. Enjoy the treasure trove of data and see how each round compared under identical testing conditions to other ammunition options. Read. Learn. Argue (of course; you’re gunfolk). Enjoy.

  • If I’d have had time to post yesterday (sorry), this would have been at the top of my list: YouTube shows its colors (again) by banning a range of gun-related videos. (Tip o’ hat to DB and others)
  • Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump or Cambridge Analytica, is gaslighting America.
  • Yeah, and Cambridge Analytica is a red herring. Money quote from the Obama camp: “Facebook was ‘very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side.’” 11 Comments
