Those blood-sucking vermin in state and national capitals and city halls everywhere
What Joel (and Leslie Fish) wrote was sadly moving, and we can know that willfully naive souls will repeat the same fatal mistakes, world without end, amen. But thank G-d, some in the American Jewish community are awakening and taking up arms in defense of themselves and their faith. Sigh. Dutch police decrypt hundreds of thousands of messages from IronChat, a supposedly rock-solid, end-to-end encrypted messaging app praised by Edward Snowden. Six questions about the sloppy and insecure CIA communications that got 70 U.S. spies killed. Meanwhile, as Sharyl Attkisson notes, the Central Lack-of-Intelligence Agency deepens its spying on everybody…
It turned out to be a fairly normal election, after all. A dead Republican brothel owner was elected to the Nevada state assembly. And a live writer of porn romance novels is refusing to concede the Georgia governor’s race. Minnesota elected a domestic abuser and Farrakhan supporter as its chief law enforcer. And Arizona is still trying to decide between a seeming all-American paragon and a complete lying moonbat in its Senate race. Decisions, decisions … For me, personally, and for the good people of Washington state, the biggest heartbreak was the urban-driven slaughter of gun rights in the lopsided…
Furrydoc and I had lunch together yesterday. We talked politics as we so often do. And we found ourselves in the same state — a not-so-unusual state, these days. We wished news would simply go away. We’re both taking steps to avoid it. The world seems to have gone completely mad. Hate pretends to represent love. Rage replaces thought. Ignorance supplants knowledge. As Joel says, sometimes you need to v*te. Of course I know all the principled and practical arguments against v*ting. I’ve made many of those arguments myself. I admire Wendy McElroy, who famously wrote that she would not even have v*ted against Hitler. I don’t knock anybody who chooses to v*te — or who chooses not to. I’ve been on both sides and see both points of view. I was born to a v*te-worshipping mother, raised to politics, and gave it all up mostly out of futility after the one “victory” I took part in turned out to be the…
I had two blogs I wanted to post today, but it’s been zip and zoom and zap since early morning. Commitments, appointments, distractions, demands. Then every time I think I have a moment to sit down, something interrupts. Now I’ve got half an hour before an appointment. Let’s see if I can sneak some links into that time, and come back later (cross fingers) for post two. Jeffrey A. Tucker on the epic battle to control our thoughts. Naturally, the CIA has an official Chief of Disguise. A former holder of that office made a short video about her craft.…
